Inspired by the works of Jules Verne and Dan Simmons, "The Mar" is a futuristic sci-fi novel set in the year 2222. One woman sets out to work as an engineer on the undersea mining planet of Fjord 1 to guarantee a spot on the star ship Magellan. After discovering that the intelligent life on the planet is much more intelligent than her and her crew bargained for, she must reconcile with the ethics of humanity's ambition and her own. Oh! and did I mention Grey aliens and corporate greed?
